Summer Activities For Your Kids In Or Near Celina Texas
If you are new to the Celina area, and need ideas of things to do with your kids this summer look no further. I have made list of some of my favorite things to do with my son. Some of these places are in Celina, others are within a 30 min drive.
Movie Night On The Square
Reminiscent of an outdoor drive-in theater, this free movie night features a huge blow up movie screen with seating on the bleachers or the lawn. Prior to the start of the movie, each evening includes select vendors offering food and beverages as well as movie theater style popcorn. In addition there is a free kids zone with rotating activities such as costume characters, bounce houses, games, and crafts.
Downtown shops and eateries will also be open for you to shop and eat. Dogs are welcome on a leash as well. To find the schedule for this event click here.
Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch
Located just 30 mins from Celina in Pilot Point, this cute little wildlife park is a must. This park is an animal rescue featuring many different exotic animals. There is a train that takes you through three different sections where the animals come up and feed out of feed buckets located around the train. You will see zebras, kangaroos, camels, lemurs, and even Clydesdale horses. It is a fun experience for the whole family. Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch
Play Street Museum
If you have children under the age of 5, this place is for them. Featuring different play houses like a grocery store, a house with a play kitchen, a fire station, craft tables and many more, the chance for your child to expand their imagination is unlimited. I used to take my son here when he was little and the fact that it is in a safe enclosed environment made it easy as a mother to sit back and relax while he played. Great Wolf Lodge
This place has it all. Indoor water parks, overnight stay, dining, Build-A- Bear Workshop, arcades, ropes course, and more. Great Wolf Lodge is located in Grapevine Tx, and not that you would ever need to leave, but it is in close proximity to The Gaylord Texan as well as many restaurants and shops. If you want to take a little weekend trip this is a great getaway for the whole family. Great Wolf Lodge
Hey Sugar On The Square
Hey Sugar is the cutest retro candy/ice cream shop located on the square in downtown Celina. Stop by for some nostalgic candy, homemade chocolate treats, and delicious ice cream. Hey Sugar
Preston Trail Farms
I cant say enough about this place! It is located on the Celina/Gunter boarder, and it is also a True Value Store. There is something for everyone here, Dad can check out the tool section, Mom can shop candles and clothing while the kids can find a toy inside. Outside is where the real fun is. For a few bucks you can get a bag of feed and feed the animals outside. There is a big red barn housing goats, sheep, cows and even a longhorn. You can just stroll through and feed them all. As an added bonus, this place turns into a pumpkin farm in the fall complete with a hay maze! Lots of amazing photo opportunities! Preston Trail Farms
Adventure Landing
Now to say this place is a hidden gem is an understatement. The nostalgia is real here! Located in Plano this place has outdoor go carts, bumper boats, arcades, miniature golf and laser tag! The best part about this place is that it wont break the bank! It's also a great place to have birthday parties! It reminds me of a simpler time! Total 80's vibes! Adventure Landing
Hawaiian Falls
If you're looking to beat the summer heat this place is also great! This is a huge outdoor water park! They have lots of water slides, a wave pool, a kiddie water jungle gym, splash pads and more! It gets hot here in the great state of Texas and this place is a great place to cool off and have fun! Hawaiian Falls is located in The Colony just 30 minutes from Celina. Hawaiian Falls
Top Golf
For those of you who have teenagers this place is great! They have climate controlled bays, and using your own clubs or the complementary clubs they offer you take aim at the giant outfield targets and their high-tech balls will score themselves. They also offer food and drinks. This is one of my family's favorite hang outs! It is so fun for the entire family. Top Golf
