Why Plano?

In 1994, Plano was named an All-American City. By 2000, the population grew to just over 222,000, making it one of Dallas's largest suburbs. It's great schools and quiet neighborhoods continued to gain momentum, and by the 2020 census, the population had increased to slightly over 285,000. It is now the ninth-largest city in Texas and the 72nd largest city in the United States.

With the population increase, there has been a flurry of new development. Homes have increased in price, but the job market is hot and most residents in the Plano suburb make well above the national average.

Texas is known for its rich farmlands and open areas for ranching. In addition, the climate makes farming favorable and most everyone enjoys the warmth and sunshine of this area.

Climate

About two-thirds of the year, Plano is sunny and warm. It is one of the more comfortable cities in Texas, with just a couple hot months, July and August, which average highs in the 90's. While these months are extremely warm, they're still cooler than most places in Texas.

Plano low temperatures rarely drop below freezing and the area averages about forty inches of rainfall each year, with just a rare dusting of snowfall in the winter months.
