The Prosper ISD serves the City of Prosper along with parts of Frisco, McKinney and Celina. Prosper is experiencing an explosion of new construction. It is not hard to see why. Prosper provides a slower pace than its southern neighbor Frisco Tx. You get more waves from the residents and a peaceful sense of community. This neighborly feel really resinates with potential home buyers and the home sale statistics really reflect the draw of Prosper to home shoppers.
In 2017 the average listing price for a home was over $470,000 and many homes exceed a million dollars. Prosper is rapidly becoming the new destination luxury area of DFW.
If you are looking for a bargain home in Prosper you will need to be very, very patient. Most homes in Prosper will sell for at or close to listing price. Even the most modest homes built in the early 90's with just 3 bedrooms are commanding prices over $450k in a matter of days. You can see a perfect example of this in the neighborhood of Rhea Mills. Many residents of DFW have discovered the charm of a quiet country feel with all the amenities of the big city just down the road. Prosper ISD is one of the kings on new construction. It seems everywhere you look in the Prosper ISD big, beautiful new homes are going up. Keep in mind that many of the new home construction sites are actually in Frisco, McKinney or Celina, but they are zoned for Prosper ISD.
One word of warning, Prosper is not the place to build a home if you are looking for a bargain. The price of land in Prosper is ridiculous and labor and materials have skyrocketed. As of August 2017 the new home price ranges are from $330k - $1.5 million as listed in the MLS. This is a huge range of pricing, but everyone should be able to find a home in this amazing ISD.
Keep in mind that builder quality ranges greatly over the spectrum. It is not always true that the more expensive home is the better built home, but they do typically spend more time on details and finish out. Students who live within two miles of their assigned school are not eligible for transportation except in rare cases where hazardous routes exist that may include lack of crosswalks or inadequate sidewalks.
The Prosper ISD Police Department is a full service, independent Texas police agency. There are five experienced officers who work hard to make sure the school environment is safe, and they are dispatched by the Town of Prosper Police Department.
Prosper ISD has a no bully zone. This means bullying is prohibited on district property, school buses, district sponsored events, or school-related activities.
The Pre-Kindergarten program is for students who are four years of age on or before September 1 of the school year in which they are enrolling in the program.
Gifted and talented students are those who are classified as performing (or show the potential to perform) at a high level of accomplishment when compared to students of the same age, environment, and experience.
The Prosper High School Fine Arts program consists of band, choir, orchestra, and theater. The Theater Department puts on four shows each year, including a children's show that's performed for the District's second grade students.
Depending on the grade, students may tryout for a variety of sports such as football, soccer, golf, basketball, baseball, softball, swimming and diving, wrestling, and tennis.
